Know some of y'all remember a few years back o got this lil hand rifle in .22 hornet. Could never get it to shoot half decent 1.5-3" @ 50yd was that usual. End up barrel was pretty pitted and just put it on the shelf till I got a new barrel.

Well finally found a barrel that want as bad , still had some pitring right past the throat but hay, it's kinda an improvement . But haven't really had the time or desire to really mess with it . Got the brass and new scope on and ready and today was a nice day so figured why not dona lil load development

I gave up on H110 pretty quick , I just don't have luck with that stuff in anything and figured I'd just do 3 shot groups just to see . The Handi rifle experts over on grey beards swear by 2 shot groups with Handi rifles . Apparently by the time you get to the third shot some kinda hocus pocus happens and the third one will go wide about eveytime...which I've noticed to me kinda true actually.....but I gotta do at least three .. prefer five but those always get bad with these things ....know I had had a few guys message me and tell me some very rude things when I told them I'm more of a five shot group guy.... Anyhow remember lil gun did better with the last barrel and I had a can. Technically this is a powder better for the 40ge and up but after some reading folks have had luck with them so
[Linked Image]

Book said I could go up to 13.2 GR with a longer 40gr pill so didn't see much issue with the same load with the shorter bullet

And the groups just seem to keep closing up lil by lil the higher I got I just keep going , no pressure issues as far as I could tell
[Linked Image]

And looks promising. Not perfect but promising. Waiting for the cows to move so I can walk down to 100yd and see what happens . Haven't crono'ed it but should be around the 2900-3000fps mark

Wolfie have you ever tried Tubbs bullets to fix bores? I used them in a 300 Weatherby and they shrunk the group from 2" to sub moa.

Ya know I've had them mentioned to me a few times and never got around to it . Apparently I can get similar results with something. Called fire lapping , which no one seems to want to explain but from what I can gather it's just running a patch with some abrasive cleaver then shooting a few rounds ...I think lol. Keep meaning to try both

Welp took the three upper loads that seemed to shoot good our to 100yd and
[Linked Image]

And since 12.6gr looked the best figured I'd do a seating depth test at 100yd annnnddd can't really say I see much of a gain honestly... Really confirmed this thing doesn't like the barrel getting hot

Anyway enough for today got new hoop coop to build

See if you can find someone to take that trigger down. I’ve got one in 223 @ 3lbs. I’d stick with the lil gun, try Sierra bullets

Already did lol one of the first things I did to it. Slapped in a reboundign hammer and a different sping then played with the sear engagement a lil bit lil under 2.5 lbs , if I rember right it was like 6-7 originally sick

You’re on it, those original triggers are horrible. I’m shooting remington 6.5 primers 12.8 grains of lil-gun with a 45 grain 1210 Sierra bullet. Hope this helps!
