off to a very slow start. Lots of rain, very cold night and cooler than normal days. Just not seeing much new damage but a lot of old damage from over the winter. How is it going in your area?

Similar conditions here with the abundance of winter damage and not a lot of new tunnel activity. Still catching in the deeper tunnels along hard edges and the straight runs coming from the tree root systems or concrete slabs, though. I’ve had a higher than usual number of misses that I attribute to the HEAVY rains we encountered earlier this Spring where my backfill washed down the tunnels causing more soil than typical to be pushed ahead into the traps.

There still to deep here in MO. Another couple weeks, and chipmunks will also start dispersing.

They’re going at the surface for over a month here. Most of my jobs have been in sandy soils. I prefer wet or moist conditions. Nothing is more frustrating than when the soil is too dry and the moles only come up after a good rain, then drop back deep. I’ve had customers water their lawn to keep them at the surface.
