This was my week to hunt turkeys in Wis. I hunted Wednesday and had hens around me most of the day. Late in the afternoon a tom showed up but wasn't interested in decoys. They have been hunted hard the last 4 weeks.
Back out at daylight next morning. Had a bunch of hens with some Tom's headed toward my blind a couple hours after daylight that quickly vacated the field when a large feral cat made an appearance. Thought my luck had run out until this tom showed up an hour later. 23lbs, 10 inch beard, and 1-1/4 inch spurs.
Will be hunting with the grandson next week. Hopefully the good luck continues.

Great bird. Sure pays to wait it out some times.

Congrats, Muskratwalt, I tote a beat up old 870 myself. I was lucky enough to burn another turkey track into it's stock about a week and a half ago.

.......to clarify, I didn't mean to make it sound like I thought your gat was beat up looking! crazy
