What cheek riser you using there? Stock looks good, not a big fan of colored wood stocks, but a lot of people are, and color doesn't detract from the fit, which is the important thing.

This is the exact one I use , there's a few other but I like this one the best for the shape , material and the knobs [Linked Image]

So after a lil messing around we figured out she needed about an 3/4" taken off the stock for it to fit her well and taking off the factory pad did that , but then I was just gonna put a limb saver on sooo yeah just decided to lop off a chunk lol. And of course I used the finest most precise instrument for this....... In other words I just eyeballed it with the circ saw lol !
[Linked Image]
Had to trim the limb saver a lil bit and used some JB Marine to glue it on and other then the clear coat and a sling we're golden.
[Linked Image]
Had to do some final adjustments to get the scope adjusted to her then zero it ....which this thing was only like 2" low at 100yd out the box, and she proceeded to just have a ball with it , orginally just load her three of the low recoil rounds I made up expecting them to still but a bit much and yeah no I was told to go and load more lol !

We had to walk back and forth a few times because once she got the hang of the tripod she insisted on just taking head shots and those tend to make the gopher go right on his side she was over the moon with it to the point she wanted to help load some of the round , on which I may add , her dad's old press , was a pretty rewarding deal for her it seems [Linked Image]

I have a strong feeling I might be doing another one of these soon lol

Chainsaw outta gas? grin

Do your light loads print
same zero as hi-po loads?
That's what I liked with 270.

Awesome post about "Dads" rifle.

These light load do well enough for anything shed need honestly, need to switch to a different bullet because these I'm using are pretty inconsistent measured ten of them and there all over. Ridgerunner gave me a load I'll be trying
But till then [Linked Image]

No clue on the high powder loads baking the same impact though. No real reason to worry though because doubt it will eat much other then these light loads for a good long while . Besides I'm using bullets designed for a 6.8 SPCso they are ment to open up at lowered velocities and since I got this .270 running basically like a souped up 6.8 should pan out decent...should
