Limited use for me, but they are deadly in shallow settings and crossovers. Nice big, inviting opening.

I have six 280s and three 330s rigged with the Expand-a-pans. They are a bit touchy to set. Make sure the notches are filed to grip and the striker bars are not slick painted or waxed....rough area up with sandpaper.

Also, a modified H-stand or other support stand that allows for the up-side-down trigger to fire is a must.

I'll be using the 280s in plywood bobcat boxes this winter.

All my BGs are Belisles.

Here’s what I use for nesting predators, and I have my traps tuned for mammals the size of a Franklin ground squirrel on up..ie: raccoon and skunk. I have caught mink in this setup but this is a 160 (6”) body grip.

If I were to target mink, have had the most success with the trap turned around, and box slots half way through the box with the trap up against a significant portion of fresh bait…fish or muskrat.

In the example above, a mink very likely will enter the box, darting in without touching the pan and get caught backing out whilst wrestling with the bait…and the ideal mink trap would be the 120 size.

I use them on 120 and 220. Have caught mink in both sizes. I use the 220 with pans for raccoon in the areas where there is a good chance for mink to check out the box. I also think they make the trap hair triggered so you will need to tune them.
