If someone could imitate the soft mewing that kits make...maybe get momma.

I would bet it can be done. I have seen video's of the natives in AK calling muskrats in the spring of the year. You can call about any thing if you know what you are doing.

Open some beaver lure upwind, and they will come. Yep. I have had them follow me around the swamp because I wipe my hands on my pants. Almost scary sometimes.

Do you mean that it isn't already legal to take beaver by any means? And what's this thing called a season?
But seriously, I hate when the legislature just hands off stuff like that to the DNR. Kind of a bad mix of legislative power, where it legally should be, being held and exercised by people ignorant of the actual topic handing off enforcement to appointees, who may or may not be actually qualified or political appointees, who pass it down to employees, govt ones, that actually do have college degrees, liberal ones, in wildlife. Then they turn around and ask us who are in the field daily to sit in on meetings for our "input" to decide something that was already decided in the legislature. Lol You DO live in Georgia...and know the process.

Btw....I've heard a beaver make loud bird-like tone mewing sounds. It was an adult beaver.
We were bank fishing and it swam about 100yds plus out from us slapping it's tail and mewing for almost 30 minutes before swimming to the back of the pond about 400 yds away to a lodge.
I videoed this event but don't have the file on this phone anymore or I'd post it here.
Never heard another beaver do this.

Back in my day, as a pipe-layer, I'd just saunter in to the local water hole and holler "Hey Baby", in a gravelly voice. Worked sometimes. Didn't always bring in the most prime ones though... Primness in this case is in the eye of the beholder, and can vary widely depending on alcohol intake.

I’m wandering how many bobcats will be thrown in the ditch after the Facebook pic is taken? This^^^ is happening in Georgia since it was legalized here (about 3 or 4 years ago) to use electronic calls and deer-sized rifle calibers to hunt them. Most "callers" know nothing of a fur market and are not willing to skin and put up pelts. There are Georgia trappers (some here on Tman) that no doubt toss all catches in the carcass dump, even prime winter bobcats. The ol' fur trappers in me cringes at the thought, but oh well.....
