it spreads almost as easily as fleas , through direct contact or surface contact.

why you shouldn't take your dog to any park , shelter, boarder or groomer unless they are on a regular treatment to stop the mites and fleas.

Typical means of transfer is social contact, breeding and occupying a den that has had fox or a litter in the past where the mites are still present.
