Came back from skulking around the field edges with the bow ( figured the pigs would be out and about with all this rain but nope ) and had the itch to play with my rod bender . Decided to finally try making one of these WA Double door cages that seem to be a regional favorite up there . Made one or two before with horse panels but most of them are made from cage wire and formed 1/4 round . Had bout the parts for a few a while back , forgot the conibear dogs though . Coming along pretty nice though , not too hard

Little 10x12 x 36 doors powder by single duke 1 1/2 coils springs. Tried two original but they where flexing the doors a lil more then I'd like . Still pretty fast Just gotta try and diy a conibear dog in the morning and bend up a trigger bar for the door ...and figure out how I'm gonna find the door .

I thought we figured out that you suck at welding, and we’re going to stick to wood working?

I think not the best way to go. I prefer 2x2 11 gauge.

Nothing wrong with your trap. It is pretty much what my traps looked like when I started making them. You can't set them out of the water if there is a chance of catching an otter with that sized wire. The big change for me is when I started making them collapsible. I went to a frameless trap and that made the 11-gauge mandatory. Don't have to worry about anything chewing out is an added benefit.
