They put tilapia in a lot of ponds and lakes around here, to control muck and weeds and produce food for bass, even though they die when the water hits the fifties in the Fall.

Peace Corps got into some trouble introducing tilapia into south american waters while I was serving. There was fear it would displace native fish. Don't know how it turned out.

I've heard of rabbit hutches being built over tilapia ponds. Sounds like pretty efficient agriculture.

I watched a show about a stripped bass fish farm fed by an aquifer in the desert in SW. Arizona maybe. They raised Tilapia too. Fed them the Striper poo.

Nephew the jealousy they are displaying is sickening. As long as you fried the fish you're all good. Like eating a red eye. (rock bass to a yankee)
