The skunks won't leave my beehives alone. Looking for a bait to use in live traps. Any recommendations?

A lot of success with nuisance work using cultured egg and asafoetida/banana. Mr. Jameson also sells top shelf adc baits/lures.

Screen around the perimeter of the hive location with silt fence or some other materials and place traps in gap openings made the width of your traps. Place some honeycomb under the trap at the far end if you want to bait it, but the hive itself will be the attractant.

Sounds like a sure fire way to catch a squirrel unless you disable during the day.

They're likely drawn to the larvae, use crap honey for the scent.

I catch nearly a 100 skunks every season using rotten smelt or or a large helping of carp for bait. You will catch several coons as well but the longer the fish sits, the more attractive it is.

Raise the hives out of their reach or put bird spikes, I like the nixalite brand, in front of the hives. Electric fencing works as well, there are several makes of electric netting designed just for small varmints like coon/skunk/rabbit.

Catching is the easy part, actually solving the problem is the best longterm fix.

Apple oil has always been my personal favorite.
Trailed with mini marshmallows, with big marshmallows stuck to the pan.

PBJ sandwiches broken into pieces with Nilla Wafers.

I tried banana as the bait. Second night I caught one. I’m going to keep them set for a week or two to see how many I catch. I’ll try other suggestions too

Have had good success with old fish flavored cat food mixed with tuna fish oil in tube no spray traps

Strawberry sugar wafers for coons, skunks and opossums for the last 27 years. A trailing squirt of fish oil seems to help. I've also caught 2 gray fox, 2 fishers and a bunch of gray squirrels with them (all incidental). I switched to the sweet baits to deter the housecats that fishy baits attracted.

I'm with Brian on Strawberry sugar wafers from Dollar General. Makes a quick snack as well.

I use the cheap vanilla extract from Dollar General as a trailing lure.
