Everyone in England considers anyone from North America, including Canucks as yankees. As far as I know that does not include Mexicans no matter where they are from.
I had to correct a lot of them over the years.
Camadians do not distinguish between southern or northern US citizens=all Yankees.

There are plenty of good American people and also some arseholes-same as in Canada or anywhere else most likely.

Canadians are AOK, and prefer them over British folks in general....

Australians are about as crazy as we are....Fun bunch to hang with.

Where I grew up, there were 3 bridges to Canada within half an hour of me, and Canadians came to the US to shop in hordes. By and large, I found them to be indescribably rude. That said, I imagine most of the Canadians I interacted with were probably city Canadians. Country Canadians may be better.

Met an Aussie once, on vacation in Disneyland, nice bloke....!

Met a Canadien trucking lobsters down once too,.. had a check from a Canadien bank for a seal tag reward that the local banks wouldn't cash....gave it to him, he said he'd turn that reward into beer!, lol

I’ve spent a considerable time in Canada but before I answered this thread I had to decide if it was a typical BS thread or an honest question thread. I’ve decided right or wrong, here are my experiences and opinion from about the mid 70’s-2015. I’v spent way more time in Ontario than any other Canadian Territory though I’ve traveled from Sarina to Montreal to Ungava Bay to hunt caribou but still I’ve spent way, way, more time traveling, bush camping/fishing between Sualt Ste. Marie and Savant Lake ON. Which included traveling on the VIA.

That being explained I can say that in all those years of traveling Ontario, it was the only place in my life that I ever felt discriminated against by somebody and each time it was by an indigenous or mixed indigenous person as far as I could tell by appearance and voice. Twice, in restaurants I refused to eat my meal because I felt someone had spit in it because of my feeling during the ordering interaction. When a person feels something is off, it’s usually off!

On the other hand, of the normal, everyday encounters with Canadians in public places or in the bush, I found them to be no different than I’d expect to meet a person in my small town in Michigan, that is as long as there were no politics involved in a conversation! LOL

You're getting awful big for your britches there, boy. It's a shame those dang yanks freed the Africans as soon as they did... if they hadn't your great great granddaddy might taken a shine to one of his house... servants... and then the Savells would be half Viking and half African. Now that would have been a fine combination!

Canadian women have been disappointed with men ever since you left.
