Can anyone recommend a good stiff stainless screen brand/type and where to buy it, Id like to make some wire screen trap covers instead of paying 1$ a piece

Probably available but it's gonna cost...

I have galvanized 1/4" wire homemade pans on some 160s that are over 10 years old and still good, and the wire was old when I used it, so....

K.Adams, I'm sure stainless would work BUT consider the fact that at times critters are going to chew up the pan cover and ruin it.
Regular steel pan covers work well and might be easier to find/purchase. Heck, even fiberglass mesh works well for some. Here, I
use unscented toilet paper for my covers and it works well. It is not perfect as on windy days it'll drive you crazy....its cheap too. Also,
the latex pan covers work well. Others use old canvas cut up for their pan covers....lots of solutions...got to experiment to see what works best.
Good luck.

I m using wax paper myself, after crumpling it up once…or a sandwich sized baggie…under the loose jaw and up to the dog engagement, tucking the corners with the same old skinning knife that I spread lure with…

Google, stainless steel screen roll
Lots of options,

There's a thread on Tman about making a press to form the screens to fit the inside of the trap perfectly
Maybe someone smarter than me can find it

I found enough to make about 20 of them for 12 bucks on amazon, ill try it out and see if i want to go that way, I'm hoping i can just leave them flat and slide them under the jaws on the no bs traps, I'm not gonna go through all the trouble of forming them to the pans with a jig etc. I'll go with something else before i do that. It seems like a lot of hassle just to have them get trashed when you make a catch.

Thanks for all the replies!
