I’ve got a 2017 Tundra 5.7 that just rolled over 100k a while back and took it in for a coolant flush and change then. Fast forward 5k miles I’m doing and oil change today and noticed my coolant is ORANGE not the OEM pink type.
Is this an issue? Do I need to dump it, flush and replace?
Looked at my records and the shop receipt for clues…it just said “global coolant” as the type they put in.

Any help/guidance is appreciated.

I'm pretty certain that the orange stuff is recommended for Toyota/foreign vehicles.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

The orange coolant is probably Dex-Cool, which is Ethylene Glycol.

The original pink coolant is most likely Toyota Super Long Life Coolant which is also Ethylene Glycol.

Eh...wot?

I was told by the co-owner of the local Napa, who worked in the parts department of a Toyota dealership for twenty years, that the pink coolant and the orange coolant are the same thing.

Call who did it, this colored coolant is a mess.
Jeep's are orange, duramax is orange coolant.

Ol' 69 and 83' chevy are green the good old coolant.

I've just heard of this organic stuff/ but researched it here
awhile back and can be harmful to system if not flushed before adding.
So no just topping it off with the organic.
One or the other.

Let me sugar coat this

Just changed the radiator in My Dodge last week, it had orange, so I refilled it with orange. My 09 Tacoma had pink I think but when I did a radiator in it I flushed it and put green in it. Everything else I have runs green, so I thought about putting that in the Dodge, but didn't feel like flushing it. They say you aren't supposed to mix them, but I've done it in the past with no ill effects.

My Skidoo has pink, no that I think about it, so I'm not sure if my Tacoma had orange or pink when I got it, I just knew I had something that had pink in it.

… I don’t think this is really that big of a deal

… my oldest boy is driving my 2013 Tacoma with 250,000 + miles on it … original coolant… may have added some well water a time or two

Insert profound nonsense here

Different color coolant have different additives. Asian pink coolant is the same base as dex-cool (which is most likely what you got) with more additives.

You will be fine to run it. Mixing colors isn't advisable but flushing and filling is fine.
