Your guess on whether prices on this upcoming sale match March (2026), lower than March, or higher than March? Talking about averages here.

Lower on marten. Lots of unsold cats, especially on the westerns that are in dealer lots with limits.

Didn't all of last year's unsold dealer lots get sold in March?

Hard to say, apparently the collection of marten is not as nice as the March collection. They posted they are short of porters to work with the buyers,
Apparently its likely to be the largest sale ever for FHA with the amount of buyers attending.

The dealer cats from 2025 all sold in March, is what I heard. There weren’t any fresh cats on the March sale, so this sale has all those expensive cats that George and Jake and every one else bought in the west this year.

Should be an interesting auction. Bobcats sell last - on June 4.

When you think about it, how many fur coats does 8500 cats make? Not that many…maybe 4-5000?

If they only use bellies, probably 20-30 cats per coat, if full length. Less for a jacket..

I'd expect better cat prices since our best cats are caught in Feb. after the early receiving date.

Cat prices in the country were much higher this year than last. Not sure if auction prices will go up enough to cover that.

Didn't matter this year since all of the USA 2026 cats didn't cross the border until April. Early, late or indifferent.

I was watching a video the other day and they had a new marten hat, said it took 9 martens. Was just the standard trooper style hat.

I expect beaver to at least hold if not advance some. Prices in the country were pretty decent here this spring

Russian marten sale in May saw 50 percent unsold and what was sold saw declining prices.

Jim Kramer warns when things go parabolic. So far I’d put cats and sable on that plane. Mink maybe but they were so far devalued ahead of that last sale.

Personally I would like to see consolidation towards staples beaver, rats and coon. And remain optimistic for the overall fur market.

Not sure I’d say poor, but the collection is less than I’ve seen in some time.
