Initiative to ban animal cruelty. Bans hunting, trapping, maybe fishing. What else?
You can't fix stupid!

Yep, I see where they got enough signatures. Kind of hard to figure that there are 120,000 people that would sign something like that.

From what I hear the signature gatherers are just asking if you want to stop cruelty to animals, they gathered at fairs and the zoo ext. people don’t even know what they are signing. It stops all pest control, can’t butcher animals, it’s a vegans dream bill. Who knows what the title will say if they get the signatures approved. This bill might even include bugs. It would ruin all economy in Oregon. Absolutely crazy.

Exactly what I thought. "Do you support stopping animal cruelty? Yes? Please sign here." Most of those people had no idea what they were signing.

And yes, a LOT of people will vote on it, to "stop animal cruelty."

Disinformation at its finest.

Doesn't surprise me any they could find enough signers for such a bill, only have to look at how regular voting goes to see the same thing !

Always surprises me when things of this nature come up and there is hardly any resistance shown, by positive people until it's already a bill to be voted on !

It's almost to late at that time !!

And this is exactly why our founders created a representative republic and absolutely despised democracies.

I would have signed it if given the chance. grin

Great way to expose the far left AR movement for what they are. If it gets on the ballot there will be a strong coalition of different interests fighting against it and exposing it for what it is. Zero chance of passing, but it will help build a strong coalition for the future with Forestry, Agriculture, Hunters, etc etc all in.

On average about 15% of signatures are invalid so no guarantee it makes it. I'll be kind of sad if it doesn't.

The proponents expect it to lose at the polls. It's just a constant hammmering away at rational thinking. It would be kind of interesting to see it pass, it bans all farming of animals....doesn't stand a snowballs chance in .... of passing.

There has never been any evidence of large scale mail-in voting fraud in Oregon...so I say nope. No chance.

We need to get rid of Governor Kotek while we are at it. She is one of the major problems in this state, IMO.

Just doing what I want now.

Oregon has not had a Republican Gov. or majority in government since mail in voting came to be. 28 years ago. Used to be one of the best states in the country. Close to the bottom now.

Y'all Oregonian sportsmen and women better think seriously about what could happen. This even getting on a ballot is BAD!

Stupid ballot initiatives sometimes pass as voters in the booth don't read past the first sentence or two.

A good place to start would be to begin thinking more conservative and vote out ALL those liberal-minded politicians....irregardless of what you think about the President.

If ya'll don't, they will get ya'll sooner or later.
