Maybe have her type up what she thinks of it thats the one shes wanting to hear about. I didn’t read all the responses, but I purchased my wife a bodyguard 2.0… It is smaller than my 43x, has a safety, and holds 12rnds.

Is it? It does not say anything about Bodyguard. It is this one.... https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting...inless-steel-pistol-101-rounds/p/1895840

I will address a few points. The S&W SD that you provided a link to is an excellent value if you aren't too concerned with size and weight. The original S&W Bodyguard was a good option when it came out, but nearly everything that came after is superior. Mr. Dobbins recommend a viable option, however it seems that it is not uncommon to get a bad example. A good Taurus is as a good as anything else, not every one is good. The Bodyguard2.0 is an entirely different pistol than the original ( higher capacity, better trigger and ergonomics)and it is what I carry most often since I am of fairly slim build. I also often carry a Shield+ . If you aren't too concerned with magazine capacity, you could probably find an original Shield or Shield2.0 well within your price range.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

Like a lot of the people on here, I carry a Sig Sauer 365 SAS, if I need to carry something better concealed. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/05/full-11798-293875-img_7550.jpeg) I just wore it a little over an hour ago when I had someone who was supposed to come out for a pigeon at 9:00pm. It's easy for me to conceal even when I'm just wearing shorts and a t-shirt. If I expect problems. I carry a Glock 17 and a Glock 23. Keith

You want a carry gun with a safety? Let me guess, you won’t have a round in the pipe either? Oh, no, I'd certainly have a round chambered.

If you are looking for the perfect gun, you are not going to find it with recommendations. It is what fits. I would also get off your but and sell some turnips or something and spend more money

I'm rethinking the whole thing altogether at the moment. My reason for wanting one was to carry while at school and it has since been pointed out to me that that would be a felony if I were to be caught doing so. Even so, I'd been considering getting a carry gun for years now anyways, so I may still end up getting one. Getting new guns is always fun.
I was hoping someone had experience with the S&W SD40 2.0 but it appears as though no one does. Bear spray Ol dad

Im not how your schools are set up or if your an employee or what. But my wife is a nurse at our school, they have a company come in do a walk through, stage a school intruder, and teach the staff on what needs to be done. They recommend staff to carry. Not every staff just certain ones, that has a back ground, been trained, and one that wouldnt hesitate to pull the trigger. I know the board approved it with in our school on who could carry. So we do have staff that does, I know that was closed session with in the meeting so im not sure who was approved to do so and what all they had to go through to qualify.. my wife is in charge of the safety, and she doesnt even know. I know not all school systems are like this, but maybe you could do some digging and asking if you so maybe you could qualify. I think more trained staff should be able to carry. But the main question from the instructor wasnt who was qualified to carry, was who would pull the trigger more time then not its going to be a student. Made me set back and think a little on this, be a tough decision.

that is the reality of it , you are 9 out of 10 times going to have to kill one of your students to save the rest. I know I normally say stop rather than kill , that is the goal to stop the violent action, so you are shooting for a stop and that means rounds center mass and keep shooting till they stop, then be prepared to shoot again if they were to start going for the gun again. But being honest with the situation of a school , if you shoot them sufficient to stop them by the time they get the school locked down and properly cleared they will likely bleed out. on the flip side they just started a school shooting they had no quality of life left. life in prison the only future they have. they made the decision to take life and you made the decision to stop that taking of life. next question for everyone , if you knew the intended use was to stop a school shooter , how would you change your recommendation. mine would be Glock 19 or M&P 2.0 and spare mag , as well as a bunch of training so you can hit what you need to hit without hitting bystanders.

now for the teachers out there , do you have an IFAK and do you know how to use it (Individual First Aid Kit)
I was at a training last week where we were training on a mass shooter event , the training was not the go in and stop portion it was everything after , the training was the logistics and process of triaging , first aid , and transporting to the ambulance rally point.
the tools are chest seals , tourniquets , quick clot gauze packing , and compression bandages. we were told while there is a needle decompression needle in the kit it was only for paramedic and above.
oh and remember to think about something for a litter because you have to move potentially multiple people from a Yellow building , it is initially cleared but it is a crime scene and not fully secured and it won't be for hours, how do you move the people to the ambulance.
triage is an interesting one the color code system black , grey , red , yellow , green and it changes by the number of responders to patients
if you have 1 responder and many patients you probably have a bunch of grey if you have 4 responders per patient you can make a bunch of those grey , red.
consider learning how to be a responder. everyone wants to step up when it is canceling the threat but you can help a LOT as a responder and the stop the bleed training isn't difficult.

Our school has individual kits in kitty litter boxes, also my wife teaches staff on proper use of each item and what to do, when, how and where. She is a instructor of stop the bleed training, and this coming year all school districts are making it mandatory to get staff certified in stop the bleed, the last few years she just did it on her own when she taught cpr, and blood borne pathogens.

that is good planning. you hope to never need it , but better to know it and never use it than to need it and not know.
