Saw on this show the other night where an armed intruder entered this Fergus Falls, MN woman's rural home with a loaded shotgun February 2025. She and her baby were in bed but was awakened by him shouting, "Help! Help!" He claimed someone was chasing him and had fired several shots outside prior to entering her home which was unlocked.

She called 911 and the authorities eventually came and arrested the man. It was later discovered that he had two felonies in his past. He was found to have suffered a mental breakdown and suffered from paranoia.

My question is: Being a convicted felon why was he owning a firearm? Even if he wasn't a convicted felon, with his mental status he should be considered potentially dangerous to the public and probably shouldn't have a firearm.

If he killed someone, it would stir up the antis and say we needed more gun control when the laws already on the books were never enforced. They never did say if he lost his right to own a firearm as a result of this incident.

Got a photo from a speeding camera in the mail. I immediately sent it back - way too expensive and really poor quality.

How would you expect this to be enforced? Surely he didn't buy the gun through a dealer... it was no doubt a private sale. Should the cops periodically search homes of felons that have served their time to ensure they don't have firearms? Imo the felon not owning guns law is unenforceable unless the person is caught with the gun....

You missed my point. This is a man who had no right to own a firearm due to his past. Yet regardless of how he got a gun, new tougher laws aren't the answer. This guy is a loose cannon. It also shows that people like him, who shouldn't own a firearm will still get one.

sounds wild I know but so many people have such a hard time comprehending it.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

That's right, they steal them from you and I just like they would a TV or car.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Gun control laws ultimately aren't aimed criminals, the end game is to get the guns from lawful citizens. The man that is in the right is hard to stop. A man that can defend his freedom is hard to enslave.

Exactly. There are those who don't own a gun and so they don't think anyone else should either.

Yep I missed your point. I took your questions at face value... you forgot to use the sarcasm font, LOL.

It's perfectly legal and acceptable to search anyplace he owns or has control over if he is on PAROLE!!! And they should during the surprise visits.

Another question, in your state, are felon's allowed to be near firearms or just not in possession? I read that someone mentioned about surprise inspections for felon's on parole, but what if they are on probation and not parole?

Not that long ago we housed those nut cases in mental health facilities, aka insane asylums, funny farms…. Now that is inhumane and they must be allowed to be free to terrorize and victimize those of us that follow social contracts. These stories have NOTHING to do with guns
