2004 was the end of production. Not sure on the HS stock but synthetic, stainless, heavy futed with a cut porting in the barrel. Trigger feels real nice. Going to come home after mandatory 10 wait

You’re in the Remington “gray area” with that one.
Could be a shooter, could be a door stop.
2000-2006 Rem 700s are a real crap shoot. I wouldn’t even consider a 2006-2020 model.
That era will most likely be a B&C stock. I think they dropped HS precisions around 2000 to save money. (Not that there’s anything wrong with the B&C stocks, they’re every bit as good as the HS ones for half the cost).
$600 is a steal. Worst case scenario you tear it apart, have the action trued and you’ll have a great SA to build with for a fraction of the cost of a “custom copy”.

True on rem quality but amazingly I bought my daughter 700 in 7mm-08 new I think she was 9 so 2011. It may have been on the shelf for a while being a basic left handed youth model. But its my favorite rifle in the house. Shoots about 3/8 to 3/4" with factory hornady American whitetail. I we have killed truck loads of deer with it. Absolutely lucked out with that one.
