I just read a news article where Scott Bassent said that the US seized about 1 billion of Iranian cryptocurrency. If the US can seize crypto from Iran, what keeps it from seizing crypto from Americans?

“Crypto currency” could be any number of things

Self custody “cold storage” eliminates the threat of it being seized

If it’s stored on an exchange,,,, it’s vulnerable

Crypto is stored in your imagination so it's easily confiscated!

Reportedly the cryptocurrency that the US seized from Iran was a type of coin that was held on a blockchain network.
