Was in the bank today and got a printout of recent transactions on my checking. Apparently I've been spending money with my debit card to an outfit in California that (I assume from the name) is some kind of 900 # associated with live shows.

Cancelled the card and put the charges (three of them) in dispute.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

900 numbers still exist? I thought they'd gone away with the payphones and pagers.

When my son was 13-14 he racked up about 300 dollars in 900 numbers. I talked to the phone company. They insisted I pay. I told them to shut my phone off then. They said they would block 900 calls from my phone and leave it on but I would get contacted by collection companies. I told the collection agency how old my son was and that I would be happy to go to court over the matter. No more calls about paying.

So you refused to pay for services provided that were used? This is why things are so expensive today…folks refusing to pay and think they should get it for free instead of owning up to mistakes. It’s always blame someone else, lol.

Yep, if i was that 13 year old, my pops wouldve taken his pound of flesh, paid the bill, and had me paying him back sweating in the garden, splitting wood and any other non-fun chore he could have thought of.

Wanna Be, midlander, you did not change my mind. I do not regret refusing to pay. I don't have any pangs of conscience either.
