Any of y'all played with these? Lookin at doing one for my boat . Seems a mud motor would be the most versatile thing and those lil predator motors from harbor freight apparently have a great track record

assuming longtails? I would by the swamp runner kit. If i remember they had better bushings without having to pay. What size are you wanting?

Built one of these 7-8 years ago and used a Harbor Freight motor, it worked well. Hardest part is storing the motor upright so oil don’t run into cylinders, had mine tip over and do so and have never been able to get motor running as well as it did new. Probably going to have to put new motor on which last time I checked was $120.

I have one it works great in low water. It does take a lot of effort to run and a lot of room to turn

Was looking that the shorter ones from mud skipper , they any good ? And I honestly have no clue I'm just gonna be puddering around the lake for the most part so figured a 4hp would be good for that

Pull the carburetor off and clean it up, being mindful of the rubber ring that seals the bowl…I have a couple new ones from a go cart parts outfit. Run only 91 octane nonoxy . Run a little sea foam through the first tank and use it once in a while.

Once you get used to it, you don’t try to turn under power, you flip yourself around using the sketch as a paddle.
