I believe I purchased it about 1992. It was from the bargain basement at the Sidney Cabela's. Google doesn't seem to think it exists. Any help with approximate years made, value, it other information works be appreciated. I don't think I have ever even used it.

OK, I can see them now. I remember Burnham brothers calls, and I have seen similar howlers before, but I also can't find any info on that one....

The founders of Burnham Brothers were based out of Marble Falls Texas.
They opened up a sporting goods store there back in 1959.
Murray was the front man, and the father of modern day predator calling in my book.
He was an absolute legend when I was growing up in the 1970's.
His father Morton was a predator caller before the term even existed.

The Robertson brothers aquired the business in 1991, and are in Menard.
That would date the call to no earlier than 91 I would guess.

Most of the howlers I have seen are made with cow horn or plastic.
I can’t say I have ever seen a metal version of the call.
I would bet the metal horn produces a much different sound than the standard models.
It will be interesting to hear what Gary has to say on the history of the howler.

It appears there isn't much information available for this. Thank you to those who had any knowledge of the company. Google searching was giving me nothing.

BB sold those brass howlers for a few years....That "tinny" sound works on some spooky dogs that have heard it all, but get curious about the different sound.

Emailed burnham brothers....

Burnham Brothers made this Howler into the late 1990's when they could no longer get the brass horns. It sold for around $25.00. It was very popular.

Thank you, Burnham Brothers
