I’ve never heard of a portable pocket. What is it?

YouTube videos look like it’s used for animals I don’t trap. You’ll probably get more information and feedback from the guys that trap for fur.

Large mammal wise woodchucks and skunks mostly. I’ve had a ton of fox calls in the last week or 2, but they require additional permits to trap. It’s not worth it. None of the local companies trap them as far as I know.

I don't think the dimensions would be that critical...so long as you can fit the bait that you plan to use. The portable pocket can be used much like the "pipe dream" set Mark Zagger talks about. I have had success with that.

So if none of the local companies trap fox if you got the permits and what not youd have a lot more business because your the only one doing it so you could set the bar for the price in your area and you prolly could almost name it what you want

This is true. I had another call about foxes last night. I did have another company call me to chat yesterday and we discussed foxes.

He has done it a few times at prices between 1 and 2k each job. It’s tempting. I’ll question my local ECO about specifics.

I just closed out a $900 chuck job and booked 3 more chuck jobs yesterday. 2 starting on next Monday, one starting the Monday after that (teacher has school year ending so she can be home to see pics of exclusion work) which will be exclusion and trapping. I’m starting to get some backing away from jobs when I prequalify over the phone once they add in the per animsl charge now that there’s little ones running around.

“Good money” is a number that’s different for each person you talk to.

Things that I find important to making a good go at this industry is population density and a generally high income for the area. You really don’t want to be driving far for work/jobs as it’ll quickly use up time that could be made making money. And the population has to be able to afford to pay you. Figure out what you’re worth and don’t be afraid to charge for that. Know that wildlife only companies are going to be very seasonal.
