Hello. It has been said that advice is what you ask for when you already know the answer. I have thought about moving this deer stand 80 yards. Stand is 20 years old and we have taken a lot of deer out of it. Mainly used for the kids who are now adults or approaching it. Seemingly every year there is a large buck that can't be shot at because it is lined up with house/buildings or cell tower. Sometimes we eventually see it where it can be shot other times not. Thinking while in the stand my thought was to bolt 4x6's to the bottom of the 4x4 posts to use as a sled, make them long enough to catch it from tipping over since it is obviously top heavy, put 4x6's going the other way to prevent a tip over as well, cut off the posts, drag it to the new site with a tractor, and attach posts to new posts in the ground. What could go wrong? Ha Ha. Then I think that in the end it would be pricier but just build a new one 80 yards away or deal with it as the kids like to hunt but not enough where they would care about the extra advantage. Thoughts?

A/T forklift.

Cut it in two. Top stand and bottom stand.

Leave the one, relocate the other. Put a roof on the one left in place.

VOILA!!! Thank me by sending me the back straps from one deer. Please freeze them first. Will give you the address when needed.

Building a New one before trying the location with a ladder stand and a roof that you can put over it a temporary roof over the ladder, stand and put it up high in the area and try it out. This year before you build a new, because it's kind of getting to where you should have had up already

This, or lay it over on it's side and put skids under it.

Those posts have been in the ground for 20 years, their probably getting a little rough looking.
I'd just build a new one because the other one might not have many years left without some work being done to the post in the ground.
Just my thoughts
