Supplier was out of the wood base rat snap. I ended up with a plastic rat snap. Anybody have any experience with them? I like the built in teeth, the bendy flexible pan looks bad. It didn’t seem to be tuneable.

Job is done. Customer hasn’t heard any noise for a week. Had 2 of them fire off without a body to collect. Not sure if they fired off due to a rat or on their own. The catch for the bail seems too secure to self fire, but who knows… I’m not sure how a rat would have been able to pull out with the teeth on the trap. I can only assume that it got into some of the packs of rodenticide I put up on the sill plate to entice it. Maybe the anticoagulant was helped along by a glancing blow to the head from the trap.

Yes. I’ve never used them for rats, but have for reds and flyers. I’m betting that the release door on all of ours is long gone and has a piece of hardware cloth zip tied in place by now. Lol. I’ll have to check when I get to the warehouse this morning.

The Powerkill took a red squirrel. The wood base ones sometimes allowed the red squirrels to pull out. Hopefully the teeth stop that from happening. The bail caught it mid chest, not in the sure hold spot behind the skull.
