My buddy's wife just texted me that her husband had a stroke. Apparently, he's doing ok, but it sucks for a 55 year old non-drinker, non-smoker has to deal with this. He does own a bait shop, so that is likely the major stressor. crazy

Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope he makes a full recovery. Stress is only one factor in strokes and heart attacks.

Heart issues run bad in my family and I've been to the Dr. more in the last 3 weeks than I normally go in a year. They think they've finally got me on a BP medicine that's gonna work without too bad of side effects. Guess having readings that are 150 plus over 100 plus pretty often aren't good. I got kicked out of 2 blood drives in the last few months because of it. I started taking it at home then and it was too high most of the time so I figured it was time to go see a Dr. about it.

If they got the clot buster med in him fast enough he should do ok....My wife had one a little over a week ago, totally numb on her left side, but she came around quickly after the meds....sent her home in 2 days with baby aspirin and Lipitor....she's doing well enough to find fault with me again!, lol

I'm also hopeful he got help in time and won't have very many lasting affects

A lot of people who have strokes have no symptoms prior. He could have afib (irregular heartbeat) which can cause a stroke because many who have it aren't aware they do. I have it and take Eliquis for it.
Is this Stoplight you are referring to?
Prayers sent.

Got a photo from a speeding camera in the mail. I immediately sent it back - way too expensive and really poor quality.

Scary stuff for sure.
Peg had 2 of the mini strokes 4 years ago… she came out of them okay.

So sorry. Our friend and neighbor suffered a severe stroke two weeks ago. We have been trying to help out with his dog….we may end up having no choice but to take him in until a suitable home can be found.

Well, it sounds a bit more serious. He underwent surgery for the clot, apparently, and the Dr.s said they should expect a 2-3 week stay in ICU. He is awake and has motor function and seems to understand what happened, but that's all I have been able to find out. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!

I hope he comes through and regains all his mobility and his mind. The Dr. should know what's best and with needing surgery to remove the clot it's probably best he stays awhile. Your friend is in my thoughts for a full recovery.

Yes. I went to see him today. It appears, it was more of an aneurysm (brain bleed), not so much a stroke. They did surgery to drain of the blood and he will be in ICU 3-4 weeks, it seems. Still running scans to pin down the problem area. He's talking and complaining about being bed ridden, so I see that as a positive.

That is surprising. I always thought Aaron was the picture of health. Hopefully, they will be able to pin the problem down. He's too young for something like this to happen. He's a good man. Will remember to keep him in my prayers.

You can be healthy with aneurism...till it lets go, then not so much....

My wife had a friend in her early thirties, standing on a dock with her kids waiting for a ferry....dropped and was dead before she hit the ground, brain aneurism...no previous symptoms no idea she had it....ticking time bomb!

Her cousin has had several strokes, they finally found he had a aneurism that was leaking blood, he had no clue, docs operated and he's ok so far but has some lingering effects from this last stroke....you just never know
