Guys,,, got a batch of body grip traps and footholds in need of various stages of repair. And I came across this odd looking set of springs. I can’t identify what the dog says.. Can someone help identify it?? In order for my pic to upload,, I had to take a screenshot of a screenshot,, the original picture would not load,,the first screenshot would not either. If you guys can see it… the spring eyes are smaller as compared to the other trap in the picture for comparison. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/06/full-4200-294620-img_0237.png)

Looks to me like a 220 spring on a 330 trap... on some combination of on down in size.

Garry- Both traps are 220. They have the same length,, so it’s not a 160 size spring on a 220

Was there anything stamped on side of the trigger?
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

What can you read or make out on the dog?
I have nothing clever to put here.

I can’t make out any identifying marks on the dog .
I’m going to try to use some steel wool and maybe find something tomorrow after work

Looks like Victor If you have a trigger from one and it's a 4 way that would seal the deal on Vic for me

Guys, the mystery has been solved,, it was indeed an older victor conibear,,, i was able to sand it down enough to barely make out “ conibear” on the dog.
I’ve never owned a victor conibear with those tiny ends like that. It’s plenty stout. New trigger and it’s ready to rock and roll.

It gets updated several times a year. Usually when new stuff gets certified. It’s not a collectors guide, but lots of regular traps in there that aren’t a hundred years old…..lol. I know some COs here use it……..but I guess that’s a dumb comment. Those are the regs they enforce so obviously they’ll use it…..lol
