Attack on the USA by Israel, plain and simple. Listen to the guys on that ship. Our government wants to act like it never happened tried to keep it hidden.

They were conducting a false-flag event to make us think that Egypt had attacked the Liberty in order to draw us into the war.
I wonder if we've ever done something similar?

My take is that its obvious this wasn't an accident and that the IDF is still using the same playbook.

Thanks to Thomas Massie for memorializing the serviceman on that ship. He's one of the few honest and decent members of congress.

Wasn't Lyndon B. Johnson president at that time? Wonder what that Texan was involved with?

Johnson publicly stated it was an accident. His Secretary of State was more skeptical.

I think if was intentional, there wouldn't have been any suvivors, much less a large number of them.

I think the Israelis were grossly negligent. They paid money for the victims killed in 48 hours.

If the Liberty had received it's orders in a timely manner, not to go close to shore, nothing would have happened.

We've killed a lot of our people with friendly fire too.

Eisenhower warned us about the military industrial complex. I reckon the powers that be didn't listen...

The State Department said they were 25 miles from shore

Saw a documentary on the U S S Liberty affair. It's out there.

Yes, LBJ was in office at the time and the doc claimed that LBJ was in on it. The story goes that he was in collusion with the Israelis high ups to bomb and sink the Liberty with Israelis planes and then claim that the Egyptians had dome the job. Kind of a fifth column affair.
The Liberty was a intelligence gathering ship (similar to the Pueblo) and was at sea without a U S flag, and the Israels pilots didn't know they were attacking an American ship. Liberty had little armaments, probably just .50 cals and small arms. Certainly nothing to defend themselves against jets. When the crew members raised an American flag and got in radio contact they jets backed off. They hadn't known they were firing on an American ship and had been told it was Egyptian. LBJ was in on the deal real time and he gave an order that "I want that ship on the bottom, now".
Crippled ship was then moved to a naval base in Italy and the crew were sworn to secrecy on what happened.

The fact that this happened, "When the crew members raised an American flag and got in radio contact they jets backed off." makes it seem likely it was an accident. If it wasn't, they would likely have finished the crippled Liberty off.

I wonder the amount of political contributions companies like Boing or Colt gave to the Johnson administration? Vietnam had to be a money maker, expanding the war into the middle east would have been another source of income.
Osagan I'll look for that documentary you mentioned.

I think with out those companies, we would not be a nation, or at best a weak one. I am admittedly biased, because about half my friends are or were in the defense industry. I went catfishing with the retired CEO of Beretta's Optics Division last Wednesday.

They didn’t quickly get in touch with the jets and they backed off…….The Israelis jammed all communications, they did get an sos out to the American fleet….two carriers scrambled jets to go stomp an absolute mud hole in the Israeli jets but American jets were called back …… the Israeli jets threw everything in the book at them including napalm….. then attack helicopters showed up and joined in….. then an Israeli torpedo boat and. Hit them with torpedo or two…… so NO , it wasn’t just a quick call, then the Israelis recognized and left……. Every survivor on the ship says Israelis were trying everything to sink them

I think often times Israel is the scapegoat. Those who are worried about Israel never mention the European descendants that take the "bribes". Those bribes aren't just Israeli in origin. Those U.S.A. bribe takers who live in country are the rats we should really be concerned with. Of course war is a money maker and those who profit from it, such as Colt, should be watched after closely. Even the guy making the speech takes political contributions from military/weapons contractors.
