I can be at the river cabin in 15 minutes from my house in town short drive and short ride on the bike or sxs [Linked Image]
,moose on the trail and see them on the river in front of the cabin, sometimes My wife will sit on the porch doing some beading and take pics of moose swimming across the river a couple times every summer
Can trap marten fisher lynx beaver otter and all furbearers right at the camp. Was out for a ride yesterday and chased a bear off the trail.
Can cast off the bank in front of the cabin and catch pike and pickerel for a meal anytime.
Its tough but I try to tolerate it.
The downside is the bugs when they appear in mid june but by mid july when things dry up in the heat they are near non existent except for a few mosquitos in evenings after rain.A nice little smudgefire in the yard takes care of them.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

So all that but Canadians still sit around the campfire and talk about how randy some old man is?

How gay

I have the same misfortune. I trap fisher every year 100 feet from my deck, I've killed a hammer whitetail 200 yards from my deck, I regularly chase bears from my yard, watch moose browse my dogwoods, can get a limit of walleye in five casts within 2 miles of the house, watch lynx stroll across my lawn, etc etc etc. It is the pits.

Fishing isn't the best locally but it is a short jaunt to the mountains for good fish'n. I don't know how to gut and skin a animal without tractor assistance. Its unfortunate I forgot what it feels like to be bent over like a dog humping a football anymore because all hunting is done in tractor range. Can't forget the marten, fisher, squirell, beaver, muskrat and lynx on the line. Shooting beaver on the lake is great fun.
