At yesterday's invasive plant workshop at Fort McCoy, the most interesting thing I learned was about the rise in popularity of invisible fencing for grazing goat herds. I suppose the reason predators don't bother their herds is because they utilize herd sizes of 40 goats. I only have six goats, so i'm not sure I would trust that predators would leave them alone with an invisible fence. If I could think of a way to make it work it might make things easy for moving my herd around my property though. The guy from 'Goats on the Go' said domestic dogs are what bother their goats the most though.

They said there's been quite a rise recently in the number of brands that offer this for livestock, but that this brand is the only one that offers it for goats or sheep.

GPS rarely siezes to amaze me. The herdsman was showing me imagery on his smartphone of some of his other herds, in which he could see where each animal was.

Moving cattle panels can get a bit old.

A couple of good guard dogs/livestock guardian dogs might be the answer. The invisible fence would work for them too.

Have you tried the electric net fencing?

It won't work for kids, you'll still need fencing to contain kids if it's near residential or agriculture.

It would if you put the e-collars on them.
