I just heard from a buddy of mine in Wyoming that Otis Latham (ColoradoCat) is making a ‘medium sized ‘cat stretcher now too, and he’d already called Otis and ordered some, along with the small and large ‘cat stretchers as well
Monte Poole from Kansas is bringing some of his slide drivers also, and I can personally give them my endorsement, after pounding in over 500 Wolf Fangs with them since last August after I’d bought one from him at Coyote Days. I have 3 now, including a 68” model that I use standing up. Total game changer! I ordered another one, and not because I’m worried about breaking one, but because I use pickups and a side by side and a 4 wheeler to trap out of throughout the year, and spares are just good business
I’ll see if he wants me to post his number, but until then, I’ll send it via PM if amyone is interested
I haven’t checked lately, but I was told that at least 2 of the motels are full, and rooms are going fast. Just a reminder to get a room NOW, as we’re 3 months away and things are happening very fast since the demo list was posted a while back
All conventions are a great deal, and I’ve attended about 180 of them over the years
But, I know for a fact that there is NO where else that there is a concentration and assembly of some of the most successful and knowledgeable trappers, period
There will be attendees that show up to visit and learn and share that are world class also, and it is truly history making every year
Plan to be a part of it
Coyote Days, Aug 14-15 2026
Lusk, WY
Thanks, John

Ok folks, we’re only a little over 2 months away from Coyote Days 2026!
Things are coming together nicely, and we’ve got things coming in every week for raffle items, door prizes, and promotional items
We have a few more garments for the fur fashion show at the Saturday night banquet, and this year’s will be a great one again
The demo list is solid, and we will cover every phase of Coyote & Bobcat harvesting and also a Marten demo!
Again, there’s unlimited primitive camping on the fairgrounds, with a shower and bathrooms close by, but the NO FIRES ban is county wide again this year
Coyote Days is a family friendly event, and we encourage folks to bring their kids Lusk has a very nice public pool, and I know some people use it every year when they come
For new attendees, try to visit the Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron, Nebraska, which is about an hour and a half east. It’s truly a great place to visit.
Fort Robinson at Crawford Nebraska is a must see too
Fort Laramie is about 50 minutes SW of Lusk, and is good stop too
I’ve been asked about fishing again, and all I can report is that there isn’t any fishing close by to Lusk, and Glendo Reservoir being the closest
There is plenty of fishing coming and going though
The main focus of Coyote Days is the world class DEMOS, and the chance to visit with lots of like minded people from all over the country, and many don’t attend any other event on a yearly basis.
With the ‘Cat fur market and the predator control industry always expanding, there is NO where else a person can go to keep up on things.
If your serious about taking advantage of the current markets, plan on attending this great event, you won’t be sorry

Ok folks, we are only two months away now!
We set up the building on the afternoon of Thursday the 13th, and the door is officially open at 6 AM Friday the 14th
A few things that come to mind:
We will have more pop-up shade canopies this year, so if you want to bring your own camping or folding chairs, go ahead
We have 11 portable aluminum bleachers to use too, but I’ve noticed sometimes they are maxed out at the demos so additional seating will be available too
Also, there is a strict no fire ban countywide due to the severe drought, so please do not plan on having any kind of open fire in the camping area of the Fairgrounds
Grills are welcome, of course
There will be food at the concessions from 6 AM till about 4:30 or 5 in the afternoon Friday and Saturday
There are several restaurants in Lusk, but only one or two that will be open for breakfast
The tiger plunge swimming pool is open now and has 12 lifeguards, so if you’re family wants to swim if it’s hot, that is a big plus
We are getting inquiries from literally every corner of the country, and I know we are going to have a huge turnout
The bobcat market being what it is, it is the driving force, but the coyote demos are second to none and if you are interested in doing ADC work to supplementing income or to protect your deer herd, this is the place to come and learn
It’s hard to predict the weather, and the gas prices this far in advance, but I know you will find the thr event to be well worth it
Admission is $20 for the weekend, and for 17 and under it is free
We are going to do everything we can to get you prepared for the coming season
August 14 and 15th 2026, all tracks lead to Coyote Days in Lusk, Wyoming !
Thanks, John

Coyote Days has truly become the holy grail of the West . If you have never been, ever thought about going, I would make this year the year. The caliber of men doing demos, are the best of the best. And they are very open to giving information. It's truly the highlight of the year. No politics,no drama, just hard-core information!

The Saturday night banquet alone is worth the trip.
I have a feeling a jug of maple syrup is going to be real expensive this year
