What are some towns to look at in Wyoming to retire in for a couple that likes to trap and fish? Hunting is also a plus. Health care and some places to shop like grocery stores and small shops would be a plus.

Have you been there? That eliminates all but a handful of towns.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Forget Wyoming. Become a super duper tough guy and move to north Canada.

Might not be tough enough, apparently you need to be 8 feet tall, bulletproof and have an over sized ego...

Cody, everything you need and even stuff you don't.

Other than price of homes and close the park, but we live
fairly close to the park.
And our price of homes and land are more than I'd pay.

Let me sugar coat this

Hey, how bout Lusk? The only place I’ve stayed in Wyoming.

Don’t listen to them other southerners, harsh conditions scare many off. Alberta is kinda Wyomingish, all the hunting, fishing and trapping you can think of. Warm winters depending where you live. After a year or 2, get your citizenship and vote……lol

I've been to Casper and Douglass a couple of times and both seemed big enough to have decent medical services and meet general supply needs, and are close to hunting and fishing opportunities. Winter weather conditions might be a bit more severe than you are used to. Both offer lower cost of living than Lathrop Mo.

There is a reason the state don't have a lot of people, their habitat isn't kind to humans !!

They also don't have many there to warrant large stores and such all over the state, so if your going to live there, lots of open spaces, but you drive where ever the nearest place is that you want stuff from, and none of them are close to people living far away, and living close to those places is about like living where you left from !

This is why people live so scattered around the land up there ! Montana is about the same as well, maybe less people !

Is that why they’re such nice states? Add on the terrain you see every day, and you’re pretty close to paradise.

Shakey, their country is comparable to where I live here in Utah, my state is a lot more four season than theirs are though LOL
we have some of the most beautiful country as well, the Rocky Mountains covers a lot of territory

People do make a difference in where one lives, lots of rules with more people, lots of things that people can do to make money as well, more people more growth as it goes. Less people less umm niceness, but depends on ones need I guess

We still don't have the amount of people most states do, but it's pretty crowed in the main city !

I would go bonkers just visiting New York city, although have a great friend that lives close to the northern lake and few people but still has to drive miles for things, so it's a trade off I guess

Lander is nice, and I am headed to Pinedale next month to fish. Riverton is NOT a place I would consider.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Had a buddy who lived in Thermopolis. It seemed like a nice livable town.

I visited Casper once to buy a bunch of traps. Only thing I remember is the wind. It blew all the time and not gentle breezes!!!
