I read that it is blue, green and purple. Is this correct?

Ask a bobcat, How would a person know with certainty?

Didn’t expect a sarcastic answer. Since you don’t know just say it or better yet don’t say anything. There are colors that a bobcat can see and not see. I am just not sure which ones.

Forget about some of these people's answers, it's what they live for here.

Never have given it much though what colors cat's see and for that matter other animals, but birds.

Read some where a long time ago that animals that have colors can see color, but there was no study in it that I could find
take that for what it's worth, guess it stands to reason for some of them, but others with out color seem to get along fine !

Blue violet is the color best seen by housecats from my research. I expect bobcats would be the same/similar.

Bobcats have dichromatic vision, allowing them to see primarily shades of blue, green, and yellow, while reds and oranges appear muted or grayish.

I never gave it much thought because any visual atttractant I use at a set is selected for contrast. Especially simething I have rigged to flutter in the wind.

Yup. Movement the far more important thing.

Agree, but if the trap pan is the color bobcats see would a bobcat tend to step there with an exposed trap? I plan on trying this at a few exposed sets to see if there is a difference without the aid of foot guiding.

J Staton, why not check it out now, before season. Use trail cameras and 2 x 2 inch disks (representing trap pans) now?????

I would get a house cat in a room and put the different color spots on the floor in a line and watch how the cat reacts. They might walk them like a path or they might shy away from them. At least you would have an idea to start with.
