I don't remember if I saw it here or FFG but a guy was talking about the fatty pieces of lard that's left over after the render and eating it as popcorn kinda sorta, does anyone have any insight on this?

never rendered bear so can't help there but if you look into cracklins

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I ate cracklins and sweet potatoes as a kid. Mom also made cracklin bread.

I like pork cracklins, but in moderation. Some can have too much fat stuck in them. Some are hard enough to crack your teeth. When I have hogs butchered, they always come with a bag of fresh cracklins, often they are still warm .

Raccoon fat cracklins are good, never tried bear but i certainly would if I had the chance.

We had a fella render some raccoon fat at a convention and the cracklins got gone in a hurry. He then fried up some bobcat in the raccoon oil and the bobcat did not last long either.
