One morning while waking up early to beat sun and surf fish, I heard a Fox barking. It had rained the night before and all the sand was matted and naturally as any trapper would I was looking for tracks on the path leading to the beach between the houses, as my family and I were not on the ocean front. On the way to the beach I saw the Grey Fox standing in a yard 20 yards away we locked eyes and the fox jogged on. Also on the way I saw mink tracks in the grass and upon the trail as I approached the water front. Two different times I saw the fox, and after each rainy night the following morning seen mink tracks.

Awesome. Most people would miss all that, or have no idea what they were seeing if they did notice.

Cool observations, obaugh. It's been years since I was in that area, but last trip there I saw a Cottonmouth and a bunch of Nutria.

I also once saw a cotton mouth late one night crossing the rd near some marsh. I parked the car and took a video on it. Was the first water moccasin / cotton mouth I’d ever seen.

Go a little further south to Back Bay NWR and you will see coyotes along the side of the road posing for pictures.
I'll bet they are hammering the nutria. which is a good thing.
Go a little further south to False Cape State Park and pick you up the worse case of chiggers that you could ever dream of.
