Has anyone used 1 3/4 offset jaw coil springs for muskrat mink and raccoons? I have some that I don't really use for coyotes so was wondering if they'd be ok for water critters

Offsets will work in water however your catch rate will significantly drop I’ve tried it before with 1.75 offsets and wish I wouldn’t have the amount of pull outs you will have pretty much makes it not worth even setting

Some of the 1.75s are just 1.5s with a different pan...and i have used them.

Offset jaws are a bad idea in water, with animals that have small, tapered paws. I would just use them for fox. If they're cross-staked with long enough chain, you can hold coyotes. Or just go with regular jaws if you want to use them in water.

What Beaver Knocker said. You're going to lose a lot of fur using offsets for mink and rats
