Wife took a picture of something I'd never seen before or even knew they existed. Cutest thing ever. Anybody have a photo of one they could share?

Got a photo from a speeding camera in the mail. I immediately sent it back - way too expensive and really poor quality.

Was a a lodge on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in 2016, one was flying around the lobby, they thought it was a hummingbird. I walked ovr caught it and explained what it was then let it go off the deck

I get them every year in my Jewel weed patch, amazing how much they look like an H-bird.

We get them here too. They are the size of a humming bird. Really have to observe very closely to what you are seeing.

I have several short videos of them feeding in my Bee Balm.
Just not sure how to share.
Got a special chair just to set and watch them.
Nothing is flowering yet.
Be a couple of weeks.

Actually they do, but I'm not sure which one does. I used to know more, but time is taking it's toll
There's quite a few different ones.
Some only fly at night, while others fly during the day.
I'm not sure, but believe the ones that fly at night produce the hornworms.
I like the ones that look just like the Ruby throated hummingbird.
They seem to be more common.

If you have a hornworm problem, they're easy to pick off the plants.
Most gardeners know what deadly nightshade is. So if you get hornworms place them on the deadly nightshade plants.
I planted butterfly bushes just to have them around. Kids love them , and many people have no idea they exist .
Some people that see them the first time, think they're baby hummingbirds.

This article is somewhat confusing , but as you look into it you find out more.
Yes the hornworm on tomato plants turns into a type of hummingbird moth.
I believe it's the type that only fly's at night.

Monarch butterflies depend on milkweed.

They used to be a common sight around here on summer nights, wasn’t uncommon to see 5 or 6 at a time around the flower beds but haven’t seen one around here in years, don’t know what changed but like several things that used to be common and no longer are

We used to have fun chasing them around trying to catch one but man can they move
