https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BMQ6FW3hP/A Minnesota DNR wildlife manager under Tim Walz’s administration has been federally charged in an Antifa-linked conspiracy to interfere with ICE operations. Alec Stewart, also known as “Mac,” is an assistant wildlife manager with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and federal prosecutors say he was part of Direct Action Minnesota, a group DOJ describes as having Antifa ties. Stewart is charged with conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer, and the DNR has confirmed he is still a current employee while the agency reviews the indictment. According to the indictment, this was not just people standing around with signs. Prosecutors allege the group used Signal chats, scouts, radios, shields, vehicles, debris, and metal anti-vehicle barricades called Czech hedgehogs to track, block, and interfere with federal immigration officers around the Whipple Federal Building. Stewart is accused of helping coordinate parts of that operation, including planning around radios, scouts, security, and blockade tactics. A DNR wildlife manager being federally accused in an Antifa-linked ICE obstruction case is a pretty wild story, and I will update as more information becomes available. — Stephen Ziegler Outdoor writer | Owner, DeLong Lures

Maybe they are there for the welfare of the gerbils? They aren't a native species so wouldn't they be under USDA Wildlife Services?

Stephen Ziegler is not someone I would rely on for getting factual information, so i automatically go to its garbage whenever I see his name. Maybe he got this one correct? It's valid, reported by several outlets. Probably a Walz to Strommen ( Dnr commish ) hire. Guess a blind squirrel does find a nut every once in a while. Well that sucks. Shocks me that the governor would have anything to do with hiring a wildlife manager. Here anyway, the governor selects the secretary of the department, and even he doesn’t have anything to do with hiring biologists or anyone not in his office. Guess all states are different. Hopefully y’all can get rid of that person.

Of course the governor is not directly involved in hiring, but certainly has set the tone for Human Resources which does get directly involved in every hire and promotion. That sucks, the only "tone" that they set for us are to ensure we are meeting all laws pertaining to hiring. I can't discriminate against age, sex, religion and all that other stuff that just means I can't be an idiot during the hiring process. Over here East of the Mason-Dixon line, my HR just posts the position for me and then sends me the candidates resumes and the application they filled out. I let them know who I picked, usually the top three, then I call them and offer the position to them. HR calls them to schedule their first day and onboarding. There is some other paperwork built in there but that is the gist. They don't know who I hire other than I say that I hired them, the review if someone says I practiced unfair hiring practices. I'm not 100 percent sure of that process as it has never happened to me. Now, for promotions, I would agree, a person submits for promotion and HR looks at it and bases it off the current job duties of the potential position and determines if the person meets the minimum qualifications for the position. After which they look at experience to determine salary of the applicant. We have an independent review process if we believe that we were overlooked for promotion unfairly. They are not allowed to show bias based on anything other than the qualifications of the candidate for the position. I sure hope they can get that stuff fixed out there in Minnesota.
