That was my number one issue during the Trump v Clinton election. Clinton was openly hostile to the second amendment. Her and O'Malley were trying to outdo each other on who was more anti-2A leading up to the primaries.

Had Clinton won the general election, we would have likely had a liberal majority on the court starting with Garland's replacement of Scalia and it would be a very different America today relating to 2A.

Whatever else can be said about Trump, including those that don't like his 2A track record, we gun owners owe him a huge debt of gratitude for the solid conservative majority of today's SCOTUS.

We should also be thankful for the pro-2A rulings handed down by SCOTUS and many lower federal courts led by some of the 279 conservative judges Trump appointed.

Shame.

Now if we can just get permitless carry in all 50, that would be awesome!!!

Mostly no longer here to say anything.

I sure don't like a lot of things Trump does, but in the end there's only ever 2 viable choices on election day and this is the reason I would vote for Trump again if the election were held today. The SCOTUS appointments (as well as lower court appointments) I believe are pretty much the most important issue.

Amen

They've been doing gun issues in the courts forever. It would also cause chaos if they actually did anything negatively about it. More wasted court time.

Did you just scroll by this post? Here is a man who had the right to carry to protect himself removed by the state until the SCOTUS ruling negated his state's rules.

Also, did you miss this part in the article?

Quote
By 2000, numerous circuit courts had held that the Second Amendment was only a “collective” right, bound to militia service. The federal government had banned whole categories of firearms. States and locales enacted their regulations on permits, specific guns and ammunition. Municipalities sued gun manufacturers hoping to drive them into bankruptcy.

The lack of a filibuster on judge appointments is the big reason Conservative judges get appointed these days. Nobody has to get Borked anymore.

Thank Mitch for putting off many Obama appointments.

There is no " I " in team.

"Mitch McConnell laughs about stopping Obama hiring judges, allowing Trump to fill courts with conservatives"

Didn't stop Obama from appointing 320-some federal judges.

Eh...wot?
