Who remembers these. I’ve picked up a bunch of stop loss and sure holds at the Idaho convention and there were a couple of these in the bunch.

I remember seeing them many years ago but never used any. I don’t remember who made them. May have to dig out some of my ancient trapping supply catalogs.

Marty, the ones I tried the raccoon ate. In fact, after trying to use stop loss traps in the water I quit, 'coon caught in them gapped the jaws badly.
I don't have many marshes here just creeks and ponds...#11s, #1 1/2 coils work.

Very true. Coon can put a hurtin on a stop loss. I always try to use mine in the sets least likely to take coon. Feed beds, floats, either natural or man made. I know coons can find their way into just about any rat set no matter hard hard you try to exclude them.

That old trap up above is pretty neat, have never seen the crimp on ones. I use the stoploss in the house after ice up,never in open water.

I don’t avoid coon though, I make a little fake rat hut trash set in shallow water, especially featureless terrain using rat carcass for bait and pick up the rat predators ( coon, mink, otter…eagles) while also trapping rats to keep the rat losses down. A 1 1/2 coil spring or old #2 is sufficient.

PS.. don’t target eagles, but dont tolerate them either.
