About 0900 this morning a wildfire broke out and due to 25 - 35 mph winds by 1100 they were issueing
level 3 evac notices to my town, Winthrop, WA. To say it has been hectic and .yet entertaining would be an understatement. To add even more to the "excitement a tanker plane dumped a partial load of retardant on the power substation, so in addition to fire those of us that decide not to run away are out of power and rumor mill says 2 days before power restored. Thank goodness for 2-10K generators BBQ grill and no real fear. Time to reread back issues of FF&G and Fur Taker

It is going to be a long, long summer. There were 3 firefighter fatalities yesterday and 2 more serious burn injuries from a burnover. When I worked out West, we joked that fire season didn't even START until the 4th of July. Hang in there and I wish you the best.

I have nothing clever to put here.
