…ol Bud riding 130 miles a day down around Houston to work and using the money to pay for college at Sam Houston State …. Wasn’t big enough to get a free ride … but sure had some good times under them Friday night lights … I’m gonna miss it … he will as well

…. He laid plenty of good hits down over the years … at least he came away with some bragging rights I guess

My brother was recruited out of High School (he was big) and he played one year in college, said it wasn't near as fun playing in college as it was playing with friends in high school.

If college don't work out let him know I can turn him into a Yankee tree man.

Them high school years built alot of character. Along with his raisin from his parents. Bet he'll do just fine.

It aint never "it". You'll always be there for him and he knows that. Don't matter how old. Just what we do..

To grow'em big, you gotta marry big. That was your ultimate failure. Mine too, but I'm man enough to live with it. laugh

I'm about 6' 5", but I married a gal that's only 5'. I'm curious what size the kids are going to end up. They might have a decent shot at being normal sized.

I think you hit it on the head: decent shot at being normal sized. Several genes involved in height, so your kids could end up being as tall as you or as short as your wife but in general somewhere in-between would be the norm. Mostly the genes for more height tend to dominate.

Watched a lot of FCS and followed a lot of the FCS teams through the years. North Dakota Bison have been dominant in the FCS for years and now they moved up. MSU Bobcats took it all last year.
Your son had a good career in high school ball and much to be proud of.

Around forty years ago , the editor of The Trapper magazine had a get together in Nebraska. Met my idol Gerry Blair. Bought him a soda, and bs'ed one on one for about ten minutes in the sun. No phone back then and no camera, still wish I had gotten a picture. But I digress. At this get together they had an indoor area also. The family was indoors looking at different vendors tables. Wife carrying the son. An older guy, had a table set up on the outside wall, with on banner or sign. He seemed a lot quieter then the other sellers, but from his appearance you "knew" this guy was the real deal. Anyway he tells my wife. "You need to get that boy a basketball. He is going to be tall" Now at this time the boy is mostly diaper. I asked 'How do you know that?" He tells us. "Unless there is an injury or an illness,I have never seen a teenage boy who didn't get taller then their mother." Wife is five eleven, and I am six one. That little boy grew to be six six, and his future little brother is six four. After hearing this I started paying attention, and from what I have seen it holds true. And the trapper who shared this information with us ......Charles Dobbins. G.

Im 5'8" wife is 5'4" 16 year old is 5'11 maybe 6 buy now and 13 year old is 5'10" so far. They got there grandfather's height. My 16 year old looks exactly like my grandpa. You would never think they were 4 generations apart. My grandpa's mom was over 6' but his dad was maybe 5'4" grandpa was 5'11" so was shorter than his mom. One of my aunts, my dad's youngest sister is 6' the rest of his sisters are 5'8 or shorter.

My wifes dad is over 6' mine is 5'8" heigth im my family is all over the place.

It happens. My son had all the records in HS but was 5-9 130. He applied for the black inner city scholarship and got it, has graduated, and just started his first job. You never know whats going to or can happen. Good luck to you both.

It goes by fast!!!!
