Watch for preservatives in store juices as it will kill yeast.
Chik Fil A sells gallons of lemonade with lots of pulp and no preservatives. Makes a mean Skeeter Pee and a decent champagne also.

If you use baking yeast, like I'm guessing prisoners do, you had better be willing to spend some time on the toilet.

Actually the ones I knew of used bread as their yeast, because it was what they could get a hold of. They said to make sure not to have any mayo or mustard on it, or it wouldn't work right. lol

The yeast in bread is dead from baking. The fermentation occurs from airborne yeast.

Welp the the smaller batch is a bubbling pretty good last few days . Got a hydrometer and yeah apparently you need to take a measurement before you add the yeast smirk

Decided to do a lil taste test just because ..and gotta say it's actually pretty nice ! Has a lil fizz to it and definitely can taste some alcohol forming. Wife said she's happily drunk it as is but we'll give it a few more days to see
Still need to try the big batch

Wolfdog you inspired me to get stuff to make some wine.

Got 3 air locks an buns, siphon, tablets to slow/k,I'll the yeast before bottling, sugar and some apple and grape juice. O and some wine yeast and star sand sanitizer.

Things I forgot ph testing stuff, yeast extra food stuff, and stuff to reduce the pH.

Hould be years worth of experimenting fun. Wife likes sweet wine so will have to lean how to make it sweet not dry.

I made some very vinegary tasting hooch and set it out where the homeless hung out. It was all gone the next morning.

If its bad wolfdog turn it to vinegar. You should be able to make a good vinegar out of it.
