163 years ago today, two large armies, clad in wool, in weather like today, converged on a small town in eastern Pennsylvania. Imagine marching up to 20 miles and then being thrown immediately into battle in this heat. In 3 days over 50,000 Americans were casualties - as many as the 12 years that we were in Vietnam.

I was just working in gettysburg yesterday and day before. It was pretty busy with people walking around in the heat.

Apparently the heat was 76 on the 1st and 87 on the 3rd.
Look what our soldiers did in the Stan & Iraq not too long ago. Plus the gear & dress code some commanders enforced.

Have always wanted to see it had some kin up there.

Apparently it doesn't take much time in the heat to mess me up. I felt ok to drive to a friend's about 212 miles away today. All country road only for few turns. Before I left wife asked if I was ok to drive it said yes .. Just as I was leaving a newborn called and asked about some work they wanted the boys to do and I went with then to see what all it was.

I spent maybe 15 to 20 min outside. Long enough to get sweaty. Then headed to my friends.

On the way to my friend's all of a sudden I didn't recognize the road or where I was at and didn't remember where I was heading. Intill I came to the stop at the hwy I had to cross. Now mind you I was onlyn3 miles from the house. And fine when I left. Or so I thought.

I rembered it happend about a month or so ago whan I cane out of the hospital. Didnt know where I parked. Went the wrong way trying to het to the hwy ended up back at the hospital and was not sure i was going the right direction when I did get on the hwy.

Looked it up yes its a MS thing. Then remember my brief time in the heat, and member here saying heat makes his wifes MS spiral. I was not sure what he ment at the time but theory is now that a short time in the heat caused this type symptom to flair. If so this is realy going to suck even more than it already has been.

Recent study showed a high , long term dose of Vit. D helps with the flairs, like 4,000 units per day, every day....

Yes sir, I take 5000 units daily since October amond with a few other things the wife sor neurologist s. Well at least most days when I rember. As well as a few other things teh wife and neurologist talked about that was recommended. The vitamin d3 at 4000 min. Was something the wife found before my neurologist appointment whit the newest one and highly recommended and encouraged at my first appointment.

Soddering wire bundles in the OD Green tail boom on a chopper in 100 plus degree heat on a steel flight line in the sun could get real warm too.

There are books written about other countries treating MS with 100,000+ i/u per day and having a reduction in lesions. I take 20,000. American doctors do NOT want you off your meds and treating yourself with over the counter for pennies per day.
