75 birds is a lot for any one bird killer to polish off. This time of year, A#1 chicken killers are often mamma coon and this year's hatch. She is teaching them to hunt.....and they all get to kill a bird or two. But 75 is even a lot for the 3, 4 or 5 of them to deal with. Maybe 2 or 3 sets of coon could do it. Missing heads and such, but they also tend to strip out some breast meat, and often drag one or two out of the pen......which mink and weasels usually don't do. Am curious to see what it turns out to be.

I lost over 75 12 week old chickens in one night. We lived right of a creek and I highly expect it was mink as like your friends, mostly just the head was gone.
They killed the whole flock so I never set any traps wish I knew what truly killed mine. Hope you catch yours

Keep traps running hot and you might get same again tonight. I doubt those 4 alone took out 75 birds in one night. they probably had help.

Two adult coons and five juveniles in two days, Good job HT. I'm sure you're going to leave them set a few more nights, wouldn't be a surprise if you get some more.
That's a lot of birds. Did the coon get all of them or did they leave some?
Eh...wot?

Wow, that is terrible! I hope you can do some damage and the rest of the birds can survive.

I was trapping around poultry last year August through end of October. cleaned out a 5 on night 1 and 3 on night 3 then 1-2 every 3rd night on average that many birds keeps them wandering in from a good ways off. not sure if he is running a hot wire outside his enclosures that helps have to keep a width mowed down some but a single hot wire about 8 inches off the ground seems to help. I have video of coon and coyote getting close to the wire and turning around to leave. if you can identify the direction the coon come in from in my case it was from a creek 1 mile to the south west of where the birds were , the more traps you get on that travel route the more likely to have them caught before they get to the birds. I couldn't trap that creek , it was a different land owner but focusing traps in that direction while keeping some out for other directions also most of my catch was one corner of the field.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

New ones will come with a wind direction change. They smell them like they do sweet corn. Or combine dust (hint).
I need to get new wire and stuff for my fencer. zzzzt
