This is Aloo Gobi Muttar. A dish made with potatoes, cauliflower and peas in a tomato/onion spiced gravy. Delicious!
The spices used are outstanding. Bring a lot of flavor. A shame we have to drive clear to Morgantown WV for ethnic foods

Looks great. A nice IPA would go good with that.

That looks fantastic! I have to admit, the cauliflower surprises me but I would certainly give that a try.

I have nothing clever to put here.

This was a vegetarian dish. The flavors alone were enough. I didn’t need to add meat but I kinda missed meat!

You can save yourself the trip if you made Aloo Gobi Mattar at home. Several recipes on Google, most of the ingredients and spices you should be able to get at your grocery store.

But you'll be hungry an hour later. Throw some chicken or goat in there and it would be a lot better.

I don't believe I ever ate a meatless meal if you can count fish as meat. I doubt I ever will.

Don't think I have had much India food

My grandmother made some bread she called Indian frybread but I think it was Native American "Indians" laugh

I would try it though. I like to give lots of food at least one try

Wife wanted to go to a New Indian restaurant in town over a decade ago so we went. I didn't know what to order so got the sampler platter that had some of many of the menu items.

The platter was huge, I tried it all. Didnt eat much of any of it one bite of each thing. Stopped and got something to eat on the way home. Wife ate whatever she got and some of the stuff i ordered. Only thing I can figure is becuse she was born without a sense of smell her taste buds are off enough she could eat it.

Won't eat at an Indian place again. Kind of glad I dodged having to go with mom to her friends sons wedding today now that I think of it. They are Indian and its 800 people event with a lot of international traveling people to get to it. Seeing the traditional dress and customs would have been cool but I would have had to eat some to be polite and that may have been rough.

Turns out ther is a positive to having MS, it can get you out of things you dont want to go to. On the flip side im missing my wifes step grandpa's birthday and 4th celebration. 6 hrs of riding in the car and the heat dont seem like a good idea

Hosted three Rotary Club exchange members from India in the 80s. They enjoyed cooking for me. Every meal featured rice, yogurt, and onions. They ate with their hands, but somehow did not soil their hands. I recall they cupped the rice in their fingers and shoved it into their mouths with their thumbs. When they drank from a glass, the glass never touched their mouths.

At the grocery store, they picked up several bags of rice to look at the grains. They wanted a Jack fruit but we could never find one. They made the bread from scratch. I don’t recall eating any meat that week.
