I have an aluminum sifter I bought 10 years ago with the smaller hole mesh, guessing 1/4". Anyone on here make a good sturdy aluminum sifter? Not a fan of the bigger standard mesh with the ground I trap in.

I pick up aluminum baking forms at yard sales and JB weld 1/4 screen into the bottom. 9 in is the biggest I run, I like 6” with higher sides. Light weight and easy to run hard with. 3.00 tag still on this

I’ve been using the Freedom sifter for about the last 5 yrs and I honestly believe it will be around long after I pass. It is heavy though but it’s not going anyplace !

Some 1/8" or 1/4 hardware cloth and four pieces of 2x2" wood and you can make a very servicible sifter. Reckon I've become an old fart from a time we made things

Part of the joy and getting the total experience is to make the item for me also.

Dad quit trapping a long time ago and I have his sifter that was made out of 2x2's and 1/4" hardware cloth.

Still use it along with a modern aluminum one.

Modern one has the diamond shaped 1/4" material that is lapped and works well for grating/grinding duff to blend set in
