Hang in the cool dry if you have a place that is cool and dry. Lacking that, cut up and freeze. They still work perfectly stir fried or in any other recipe that calls for cooked onions. Dicing up and freezing has become our preferred way. Freeze the cut up pieces spread out on a cookie sheet first, then put in freezer bags. That way they don't clump together, and its easy to grab a handful and put in soup or whatever.

I store mine at Sam's Club. They can grow them and keep them fresh much cheaper and better than I can.

My wife puts them in a cast iron frying pan with country fried steak and gravy.

Depends on the onion. Your really sweet varieties, like a Vidalia, they need to be just store them hanging up in a dry basement. My wife braids them and stores them hanging from nails in the floor joists. There is no better onion than a Vidalia. I didn't see any at Sam's Club this year.
Got a photo from a speeding camera in the mail. I immediately sent it back - way too expensive and really poor quality.
