Thought I would pick up some whiskey at sams as I hobbies throu the store trying to catch up with my wife since im moving very slow today.

Saw jack was $40 for 1.75 ml and Jim was 23 for the same size. It had been since high-school since i had them back to back but remembered I didnt think there was much difference and since I have not been to work since the 17 if june went with the Jim beam. Got home and took a sip yuck had a rubbing alcohol taste to it. Now im wondering if Jack is the same and I had just gotten used to Woodford over the years.

It will be rough geting through this bottle for a guy that doesn't drink much. But I found a small drink mellows out the internal tremors I have been having. Maybe It will help ease up the back as well and help me find the bottom this bottle before 2030. Stuff is not very good at all.

I read the title and thought we were talking about eating BASS again.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Na not much of a drinker never have been. Fell first thing this morning going out to water the chickens. Didnt take my walking stick thought I would be fine. I was not apparently. Same reason im not voluntarily driving anymore unless i inprove. Thought i was fine but didnt know where I was or where I was going for a brief time less than 3 miles from the house. Not going to space out like that driving in traffic somewhere. Hopefully it improves again but I will always be questioning if in actually fine or just think im fine. Hard to know when things come out randomly.

Only started taking a drink now and then recently. I feel drunk from the ms off and on at random all the time and have what they call internal tremors ofter now and then my right hand shakes visibly. Took a sip of Woodward that had been on the shelf for years one night and the internal tremors seemed to mellow out and I was able to actually sit and watch whatever show the wife had on TV for once.
So now and then I will have a small drink in the evening when things are feeling pretty off. May not be smart but seems to work.

Along with everything else thats wrong with my wife, she also has Essential Tremors, Alcohol does tame it some, but.....You constantly need more to get the same effect....so eventually, you're just drunk,... with tremors, lol

Im cautious not to make a habit of it. I dont have an addictive personality but my dad and my grandfather on my moms side had drinking problems. Heard my grandpa threw his guts up and there was blood everywhere when he died. I have no honest clue I was 7 when he died. I Know he liked his booze from all the bottles he had sitting around in my few memories of him.

I enjoy Canadian blended whisky more than our bourbon. Smoother to me.

We have an annual Ky Derby party. Some guest bring super premium bourbons which go un opened. I guess I should try them, because they are stacking up in my kitchen closet.

I am almost 80. Been enjoying Canadian Blend since my 20s. I like some Irish whiskey as well.

In 2006 I was laid up for ten weeks in a rehab hospital removing from a knee infection. One day I decided life was too short to drink cheap coffee, cheap wine, and cheap whiskey. When I was discharged I immediately selected Crown Royal for a few months. Then I backed down to VO for a few months. Finally I went back to Canadian Club, where I started from. As for wine and coffee, it changes several times per year. I really enjoy good coffee.

Whose coffee do you like best? Do you perk or drip brew yours?

So PF, are you gonna be able to work again do you think or is that over now?

I know you and I haven't always got along the best but I really do hate it to hear of your health issues at your age.

I'll have a glass of bourbon or scotch most evenings during the winter, one and done....reason for the Scotch is the old man thought the world was coming to an end and stocked up on Dewars for barter stock, lol....still have a case of quarts, not fifths, and a case of pints,....so I'm kinda committed to the stuff. grin

As for coffee, I was on a chicory blend kick for awhile, then was getting Community coffee,...also used Costcos dark roast for a time...my wife tried the Amazon basic and it's drinkable...so that's the drink of the day....Dripped....Regular name brand coffees have gone way down hill...

Main thing is coffee has to be HOT....only reason I have a microwave...lol...

I love a good kona but most are a 10% blend at best. I like dark roster and try a lot of different brands lately its been a dark rost the wife is picking up from Myer i dont know the brand. If I have good coffee I like a press pot or perk. Drip for convenience when in a hurry.

Heck I have some friends that live out of state I have not seen in a while . Last time I heard they were starting a bean rosting business. I should reach out to them and touch base. Will need to watch out next thing I may be trying to rost my own beans along with trying making wine. .

Kill two birds with one stone: Wine flavored coffee and coffee flavored wine. You're welcome. grin

I quit Jim Beam a long time ago and was never a big fan of Jack Black. I do like their barrel proof rye and Rate Breed.

I like to drink bourbon or rye neat and like proof to be in excess of 100 and aged 6 years or more.

Hope you get to feeling better PF.

Ive drank barrels of whisky over the last 50 years and cant abide anything with Beam associated with it. Beam, Bookers, Black ,Bakers all have that nasty beam taste.

After 3 shots it will start going down easier.

I bought some nasty scotch last year. Really not enjoyable. I would say to my wife “ want to take a shot of that scotch” and she’d say “ok” lol.
We’d be making faces, she’d be coughing, I’m laughing.

After a few months of that the bottle ran out, and we bought another one. Became kinda fun to take a shot of the nasty scotch. Now I say it’s “not baaad”!
