With the random legs and arms not working and being weak, loosing balance and feeling drunk. Well took a stumble this morning, was it being off balance or legs not picking up as expected or even just loosing my balance im not sure. What I am 100,% sure of is as I fell twisted some trying to catch myself I pulled my lowere back out I didnt end up flat out across the ground. I kind od caught myself on the meat bird tractor and only went down to my knees. Took about 3 to 4 minutes before I could lean forward or back a fraction of an inch or take more than a shallow breath without hearing pain in my back. Eventually I got to my feet and very slowly hobbled into the house.

So much for the plan of trying to pot a few trees and geting chicken butchering equipment set up for early tomorrow. I was planing just a little at a time to see how thing go. Well kind of got up and went on me this morning.

If anyone had taken a video I bet it would be a funny thing to watch. Maybe I need to have the family film me non stop so my mishaps are caught in action. Could make u tube shorts out of them. That may do a few things.1 Increase MS awareness 1 possible make a few pennies. . But will never happen just a fun thought.

Anyway. Now add the back issue to the MS mix. Should be a fun few days. The good news is the back has been worse before so hopefully it will improve quickly.

I send you thoughts and strength.

My wife was diagnosed with MS about 25 years ago as we decided then to live life to its fullest while we could. We really did and spent a wonderful portion of our lives together. Recently her condition has exacerbated but, while our lifestyle has certainly changed, we still have a great life and love for each other and are living life as fully as possible. Packing for a 5-day vacation in an accessible cabin right now. Will spend a lot of time in the woods on our UTV.

I wish you my best.

I feel for you, I twisted and put my back out last week transferring Christine to her wheelchair. It was 5 days of a extreme pain every time she needed to be moved or repositioned before my back finally was able to get better. I can't imagine what it is like with other complications. Sending prayers your way for quick healing.

Guy I was fishing with Thursday has MS, we where filleting fish while he got the boat ready to travel home, got out of the boat down the ladder fine and I guess then fell flat on his face. He said about the same thing wish someone would get it on film. He has taken to using a cane more lately. Good luck with the battle.

I think the choices are get mad and down about it, feel like a useless slug(which I do a lot) but making light of it a d trying to stay positive is more productive. Being limited for a man thats used to doing things a lot of men cant is challenging. Stepping back and coming up with the solution/method to keep on going and being able to do things just at a different speed and more planing is challenging and rewarding. Maybe one day I can come up with something new that helps many others. Probably Not likely considering every time in my life I through i had a new invention after looking someone had already been me to it. But I like the thought of it.

Life moves on just at a different pace. Needing to find new things to do. Wine making is one. Problem is cognitively im also not able to understand and retain some new thing well. So taking reading for sugar and doing calculations is way more difficult than it should be. Infact yesterday I didnt even take any readings jus did a Google search to see how much sugar to add to apple juce to get around 12%abv. Added 1 cup to half gal of juce. NOT a productive way to become a skilled wine maker at all.

Get the cane out and use it....it's not weakness to need it, Do what you can, as you can, a good attitude is big, cause when you think it can't get worse...it does...

I have a tulip popular stick I cut for a walking stick. Its a bit taller tahn a cane and I hold the narrow end and put the big end down. That puts more surface area on ground contact and the taper makes downward pressure from my hand get tighter. It doesn't feel like im a 80 year old crippel as much with my stick vs a cane. The down side is in a store its slick wood end on the smooth floor. I have been wondering if there is a type of runner coating or similar that would holed up yo dip the bottom inch or two into to solve that issue.

I got a stock cane from Tractor Supply, just put a rubber cane end thingee on it, used the cane when I got my knees replaced....you can hang it on your arm or something when you need both hands for something, and being solid 1 1/4 " oak you can use it as a weapon!, lol....

This is why you don't put all your eggs in the future you will have in retirement years. Might want to start spending that retirement money a bit before you cannot really do some things.

Working all your younger years and saving for those elder years is a gamble.

This is the reason I was working so much the last 3 years. I tool an honest look at my finances and asked myself one question. Will my family be ok if I get to the point I cant work. That answer was no. Then I had some follow-up questions. What would it take and how do I get there. The answers were get debt free and to get there was increase income by working more.

Tose questions also lead to will I be able to retire at 56 like I plan, which lead to financial/investing education.

All that retirement money is really not much it still needed 10 years of large contributions and growth to hit my target. . Won't do much or last very long at where its at now. Im only 46 and my last day I worked was June 17, I ended up leaving 4 hours early.
I didnt quit make it to where I wanted to be but am a lot better off financially than I would have been otherwise.

The way heat and humidity seem to be effecting me if that is whats causing the increase in problems does have me thinking about relocating, but I dont think I can handle the politics in the pacific north west even if the climate sounds perfect . And I think the cost of living is high.

Amazon has a ton of different rubber cane tips.
What you're going through is very sad. How much you work doesn't define you, you needn't feel guilty for focusing on yourself. While you have the energy, think ahead and try to improve/modify your home in ways that will make it safer and easier for you to navigate around. The MS can slow down, but it's best to be prepared, just in case. Extra handles, railings, anti-slip stickers on stairs, etc. A stupid injury can limit your mobility and reduce your quality of life far worse than MS itself.

At 84 and unable to do much I am so thankful I lived my bucket list while working hard to afford it! I am content with just memories now.
Thanks Dirt

Sorry to hear that PF. A lot of things that cause certain conditions anymore are parasites. Traditional doctors don't seem to look into those types of things. I read something that said a lot of MS symptoms are caused by fluke parasites in the brain and spinal cord accompanied by the shigella bacteria. I know things aren't always the same for everyone but maybe it gives you another angle to look at.

Best of wishes to you.
